Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani Bollywood Movie

The biggest take away from this slice of life flick is the pairing of ex-lovers Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone and whatever/however the film may be there sure is ample buzz around it to assure a box-office hit! But filmmaker Ayan Mukerji doesn't consider it as a trump card and instead treats them as two individual actors with tremendous chemistry while attempting yet again to strike a chord with the youth of the nation. Does it work the second time over? We tell you. Three best-friends, the feisty Aditi (Kalki Koechlin), laidback Avi (Aditya Roy Kapur) and the full of life Kabir aka Bunny (Ranbir Kapoor) embark on a long trek to the snow-clad peaks of Manali. A starkly contrasting personality Naina (Deepika Padukone) joins the group and despite the dissimilarities becomes their buddy. Admist carefree laughter, passion for life and frolicking Naina falls in love with Bunny but the free-spirited latter yearns only to live his dream, that's to travel each and every part of the world. The trip ends, people part ways but eight years Naina and Bunny meet again. Does love give them a second chance? Watch the film to find out. Leave aside the biggest casting coup of the year, if not for anything else, filmmaker Ayan Mukerji surely deserves to get the credit for actually bringing to celluloid the true essence of friendship. The way the filmmaker handles emotions both of love and friendship is praiseworthy! There are certain scenes that deserve applauses for example, the way both Bunny and Avi meet after eight years, the dilemma of youth, passion for life and also love. But that's all to Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani. Sadly, Ayan gives quite a few negatives in his second film; the biggest being that of commercialising his storyline. YJHD is laden with cliches of Bollywood and try how hard you can't help but be disappointed by the predictable path is takes. The whole simple girl falling for a commitment-phobic guy is very common in every other romantic film. Also the length of the film makes matters worse, while the first half is breezy the second of the 161 minutes long film turns out to be a big drag and eventually ends quite predictably too. Despite its tripe plot, Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani keeps you engaged majorly because of the performances of each and every actor and also the screenplay of Ayan Mukerji. There isn't an iota of doubt in the fact that both Ranbir and Deepika make an exception pair onscreen. Their chemistry is absolutely delightful and keeps you glued. Kalki as Aditi is surprisingly brilliant especially in a fight sequence. Aditya Roy Kapur is a let down however, as he appears straight out of Aashiqui 2 sets with not just the look even the character being just the same. The cameos of both Kunal Roy Kapur and Rana Daggubatti are complete waste. Farouque Shaikh and Tanvi Azmi play their parts well. It is a sheer pleasure to watch Madhuri Dixit groove once again on the big screen and her number Ghagra gives one of the enjoyable moments.

Bhaag Milkha Bhaag Bollywood Movie

Sports films always rake in the moolah and build an instant connect with the masses. Take Chak De India for sample or even the exemplary Paan Singh Tomar. It's the perseverance of the lead protagonists, their strife for excellence and their indefatigable spirit that strikes a chord with people making the stories cult. However, the fact that you are making a biopic doesn't just work. It should be crisp, should be told with exact conviction with which the life of the protagonist was lived and only then it becomes a good film. Milkha Singh aka the Flying Sikh's biopic Bhaag Milkha Bhaag tries to achieve that excellence. Does it succeed? We tell you.It all starts from Milkha Singh losing the only race in his entire life, that in Rome, Olympics in 1960. We are then taken to the time when Milkha Singh has already attained the success that he set out to achieve. But he refuses to run if sent to Pakistan, the country he detests. Three people, two of Singh's coaches and a messenger of Pandit Jawaharwal Nehru are sent to convince Singh to take part. The story then moves into series of intercutting of past and present where the coaches narrate the reason why Milkha is against running in Pakistan. We all know that Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra's (ROM) most ambitious venture BMB took almost two years for completion. We also know that Farhan Akhtar literally put his heart and soul in this project. But sadly, the film falls short in impressing even half as much as the efforts the latter has put. It's clearly ROM's flawed and extremely stretched story-telling that kills any thrill there ever could be in Milkha Singh's real life story. Moreover, the over-dramatization of episodes from Singh's life which actually don't contribute to the story at all makes matters worse. There are way too many episodes converted into numerous sub-plots narrated through a non-linear narrative pattern which actually don't just hog up the run time but also lead to a tiring film. Clocking three hours and eight minutes, BMB also gives you glimpses of Gadar, Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar and Paan Singh Tomar, more like the latter for both the stories revolved around runners. So you have Milkha Singh taking part in athletics for Milk and Eggs and later finding it tough to adjust to shoes for he always ran bare feet clearly reminding you of Irrfan Khan of Paan Singh Tomar. To add to the agony are the songs used aplenty, much worse, some in slow motion which clearly are forced into the film without any relevance. The songs are jarring and definitely don't add value to the movie. Renowned cinematographer Binod Pradhan does a splendid job with the camera capturing certain sequences brilliantly however, it's ROM's drawback again for using those scenes in a gimmicky fashion. Bhaag Milkha Bhaag works only and only for Farhan Akhtar. The actor has raised the bar of acting to a whole new level and deserves to be lauded. Right from getting his physicality right to his diction, body language everything is remarkable.

B.A Pass Latest Bollywood Movie

Based on a short story Railway Aunty by Mohan Sikka, B.A. Pass revolves around Mukesh's (Shadab kamal) life which goes through a series of murky ups and downs till it comes crashing down. Having lost his parents Mukesh is left at his uncle's mercy. He receives hostility from his uncle's family for whom he is an added liability. In such conditions he comes across Sarika (Shilpa Shukla) who seduces him at first, teaches him the art of giving carnal pleasure and then supplies him to many urbane unsatisfied women who require such carnal escapades. However, her secretive plans come to a grinding halt when both Mukesh and she get caught by her husband Ashok (Rajesh Sharma) who uses his repute and might to foil their business. How Mukesh's dire needs for money to support his two sisters make him take extreme step is what follows through the rest of the plot. Filmmaker Ajay Bahl relies heavily on shock value and hence right from the startling seduction sequences of Sarika to the gigolo angle, all of it demands your undivided attention. The film takes off brilliantly, the premise is quickly set and within no time this short 101 minute film gets into the crux of the story. However, in a bid to put across his story, Bahl somehow just brushes upon many issues, for example, the hollow lives of urbane housewives. Morevoer, while the first half comes across as completely gritty, the second takes turn and gets into the filmy zone with the predictable twist of Mukesh's chess playing friend Johny. The film excels for some of the stupendous performances. Specially from the lead protagonists, Shilpa Shukla and Shadab Kamal. Shukla who had proved her mettle in her debut film Chak De! India itself outshines all her previous performances by executing some of the most explicit scenes that this film required with utmost easy and confidence.

Poonam Pandey's Nasha

Poonam Pandey, the name itself adds dollops of "Bold" quotient to anything. The starlet has been in and around the filmy scene for quite some time and except adding sensationalism via her twitter handle by announcing to shed her clothes every now and then, the controversial babe hasn't had much to offer until now. Finally after a long while of Pandey being around her debut film Nasha makes it to the theaters. We tell you what the film is all about. Nasha is the story of an 18-year-old boy Sahil (Shivam) who falls hopelessly in love with a 25-year-old woman Anita (Poonam Pandey), a teacher of his college. Sahil cannot have, but at the same time cannot prevent his desire for her. And, as is the case with desires unfulfilled, they turn into obsessions. So that, in the course of coping with his unrequited love, the boy requites a lot more. This isn't the first time around for filmmaker Amit Saxena to deal with an explicit theme. The director debuted with the controversial John Abraham and Bipasha Basu starrer Jism. Hence despite the long gap you expect the filmmaker to have a strong hand at handling a story of juvenile infatuation sensitively. However, what the filmmaker does it presents a highly in-your-face drama.
